Kid O Floating Duck Bath Toys

Finally a floating tubbie duck that doesn’t take on water, mold, or smell! Most ducks have holes somewhere on their body to allow for water to drain from them, but there are NO holes in this adorable mommy & baby duo. The baby duck either sits nestled on top of the mommy duck’s back or floats independently. They don’t tip all too often, but like any tub top, get knocked over at times. They are hard and made from ABS plastic so they have a light hollow feel to them and are a fun companion for any child’s tubbie time. They also come in a nice little gift box that has phrases and quotations of children talking about ducks. It is a strong box that could be reused from something else you have that needs a home lying around your nest.

My only concern is what exactly is ABS plastic? Being an eco-friendly mama to a child of teething age, I worry what exactly she is chewing on. Other than that, little owl loves her Kid O Floating Ducks and likes to see them dance as she moves in the water. I would recommend these for anyone looking for a great gift for children of any age and for moms who don’t want to deal with mold and germs at bath time.

Munchkin Bath Super Scooper Turtle

Munchkin Bath Super Scooper Turtle

Poor Munchkin is going to hate me after these last few posts. Great concept but needs some work. This Scooper Turtle was given to Little Ladybug at her baby shower. Mama Ladybug has a thing for turtles and the well meaning guest thought this would be a great way to make sharing a bathroom easier. And in theory thats true! I loved this thing for the first few weeks of use. Simply use the turtle to scoop out all the bath toys before draining the water, then hang the turtle on its hook that sticks to your shower wall. Voila clean tub and toys drying. Except for the fact that a few short weeks of use and the wall hook was falling off my shower wall. And you cant stand the turtle up without that hook or all the toys fall out and cant drain. I tried using other sticky stuff but nothing would work. So I think this product has potential just needs some work.

Another company called Boon makes a Bug Pod and Frog Pod which are similar designs and may work better, however we have not tried them. From what research I’ve done, reviews on are roughly the same for both the Munchkin and Boon versions. I’d stick to a suction cup netting design

Munchkin Tower Squirters Bath Toys

Munchkin Tower Squirters Bath Toys

This post, although reviewing the specific bath toy’s Little Ladybug received, is really about squirter bath toys in general. Point blank I’m not a fan. Sure they come in tons of cute shapes, animals and characters. They blow bubbles under water as you fill them up and make your kid scream with delight as you squirt the water out. BUT no matter how hard you squeeze them out at the end of bath time, water is still stuck inside….and where does mold love to grow? Damp enclosed spaces, just like inside these squirter toys. I cant tell you how many Little Ladybug has gotten in her almost 3 years and not one has gotten away mold free. Granted I don’t soak her bath toys in a bleach solution from time to time but still I cant see that helping drastically. None of her other non-squiter bath toys have this problem. Save your money and get other bath toys, bath foam letters, bath crayons etc
